Vitrification

TerCon Systems prefers the Vitrification / Crystallization method for finishing a terrazzo surface. Vitrification changes the floors chemical composition on the surface to a very hard high luster shine that requires no sealer or wax applications to maintain the shine. The elimination of wax and sealers will prevent the floor from yellowing and becoming dull prematurely, layers of wax can make any terrazzo floor appear uneven and dirty, even if the floor has just been cleaned. Vitrified terrazzo floors also eliminate the expense of waxing and buffing, the only maintenance required is dry dusting and occasional mopping with a mild cleaner, eventually the vitrification pays for itself.
